Position Overview:
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing preventive maintenance and general repairs on automated material handling systems and facility equipment in a 1-million-square-foot distribution center. This position helps ensure operational efficiency, safety, and minimal downtime in the facility.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on conveyors, sorters, shuttles, and related automated systems.
Troubleshoot and respond to facility-related issues including conveyor jams and shutdowns.
Complete building maintenance tasks, including repairs on cranes, welding equipment, presses, and other industrial equipment.
Maintain powered industrial equipment (PIE), picking carts, and batteries.
Operate and troubleshoot all automated material handling equipment.
Document maintenance activities using CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Software).
Assist in complex repair projects and support Operations Department initiatives.
Collaborate with vendors, service providers, and internal teams for efficient facility support.
Qualifications:
1+ year of experience in facility or equipment maintenance.
Familiarity with CMMS and Microsoft Office programs.
Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and pneumatic systems.
Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, electrical multi-meters, and welding equipment.
Ability to read and interpret mechanical, electrical, and plumbing schematics.
Knowledge of OSHA safety standards, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO).
Physically able to lift and move up to 50 lbs frequently, and occasionally up to 75 lbs.
Schedule:
Shift: Monday – Thursday
Hours: 5:00 AM – 3:30 PM (4x10 schedule)
